This August, creators around the world are coming together to learn, shoot, and share, and we'd love you to be part of it in Johannesburg. Camera, phone, or film, it doesn't matter what you use. What matters is how you see the world. This event is open to ALL LEVELS, from first-time photographers to seasoned creators.

WHAT IS THE LEVEL UP?
The Level Up is Pexels' free photography series. It covers the fundamentals, composition, light, camera basics, editing, and finding your style, and it's built so your Pexels profile grows right alongside your skills. Level Up Live brings that series to life. All through August, we're running events in cities everywhere, plus a global challenge anyone can join.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT LEVEL UP LIVE?
Every Level Up Live event follows the same shape, the one the series is built on: learn it, make it, share it.
LEARN IT. We'll kick off with one idea or skill, tied to composition and storytelling.
MAKE IT. Then we head out and create together. This is the heart of the day.
SHARE IT. We come back together, look at what everyone made, and talk it through.
Plus a guided creative experience designed to inspire you and reconnect you with your photography, a supportive space to practice at your own level, and a room full of creators to swap ideas and collaborate with.
HOST
We'll kick things off with an introduction from our host, Thato. He'll also be leading the photo walk as part of the Level Up Live session, focused on composition and storytelling, capturing food, art, and culture along the way.
